Well, last week, we went to Home Depot and bought attic stairs! Yay! Yesterday, our friend, Mark Ebert, came over to start the project. He did most of the work, while Andy helped up top and Lamar helped down below. Yesterday afternoon, we went back to Home Depot to buy some trim and other things that we need to finish it up. I look forward to getting up there myself and throwing away most of what's up there!...Maybe we'll even find Andy's official Jordan jersey that he's been looking for forever! This is what it looks like so far!

Never Too Late!
I'm so happy! We have lived in this house for 21 years and everytime we need to go up in the attic in the garage, we've always just stuck an old orchard ladder up against the wall and Lamar (or Andy) would climb up there and get whatever we needed. Of course, the ladder was never tall enough, so you could only climb up so far and then you'd have to hoist yourself up the rest of the way. (This is a great upper-body exercise for those of you who want to try it sometime!)....me, I stay on the ground, thank you.

Seaside on New Year's Eve
We were invited to join our friends, the Thurstons, to spend New Year's Eve at Seaside. How could we say no! Although, we didn't get any beach time since it was pretty nasty out, it was very relaxing.

We watched the fireworks from our window since it was raining sideways so hard. Nice and cozy!

Oh No, Not Again!
Good thing Lamar didn't take off his studs since he has to go back to work tomorrow! In the last hour, we've gotten two inches! It's supposed to warm up, but what does that mean? It's warmed up all week and we still had snow in spots. It IS so pretty though...gotta admit. (Sshhh, don't tell Lamar I said that :-)...)
Brittany's supposed to go back to school tomorrow morning too. It'll be interesting, for sure.
COMMENTS?!
Well, apparently, somewhere along the way, my comment box disappeared. Tells you how much I know! So, if you've tried to make a comment and couldn't, please try, try again! On another note, on my last post, I wrote about making better use of my time this year. I think God may have been trying to tell me that I've been spending too much time on the computer because the very next day, we took our computer in to get a new hard drive. What was supposed to take only a few hours, ended up taking two days. You should have seen my face when Lamar told me the "bad" news! I'm sure it was pretty comical. But, you know what? I survived! Yes, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Hmmmm. What are your thoughts?

Happy New Year!
2009! Can you believe that?! Every year seems to go by so quickly. I'm sure it's because we are so busy with our lives. TOO busy, probably. I don't do "New Year's Resolutions", but in just thinking about the new year, I would like to re-prioritize my everyday life a bit. I just waste too much time. I don't want to be busier, but I would like to make better use of my time. How about you?
Friesen Family Christmas
The Friesens got together for Christmas...after Christmas. We had a great lunch together and then went on to Lamar's parents house to do somemore visiting. Andy and Kelly joined us for lunch, but Brittany was in Canada at the time.

A Stanton Christmas
Last night, we slid to mom's in Scappoose to gather with my family. Unfortunately, my brothers couldn't make it because they couldn't get off their streets because of the deep snow. We don't have plows in this area like bigger cities do, so it's quite a mess. We missed having them there. But, the rest of us did make it. Again, it wasn't easy! My sister, Mona and her kids got in Christmas Day morning on a stand-by flight from Spokane. They were supposed to be here the day before, but due to weather, that didn't work either. It was good to see them here safe and sound!
